ARRIVAL: ZERO EARTH Update Patch Notes 0.14.0

NEW FEATURE: Biomes

Biomes:

Two new biomes have been added, Desert and Lava. The town in these biomes is more transformed due to mysterious events in alternate history timelines.

Snow Biome changes:

The classic/default snow biome has been given a facelift and new trees have been added. Small visual tweaks have also been made.

Unlock changes:

The small "unlock points" box in the level HUD no longer has the progress bar or popups about new unlocks, as it made players quit runs mid-way.

·         Fixed an issue where unlocked icons remained grayscale after unlocking.

·         Fixed a bug with the "New Unlock Points" dialog where sounds would still play after closing the dialog during the points animation.

·         Grouped unlocks so that there is only one unlock type per page in the Unlocks dialog.

DIFFICULTY CHANGES

·         Enemy Health Multiplier can now increase multiple steps at once if the multiplier has increased consequently on previous levels.

·         In the Invasion level type, after the first loop, waves will start spawning faster.

·         After the first loop, elite enemy waves will also appear on Normal difficulty.

Enemy Tweaks

·         Enemies are now unlocked gradually for a sense of discovery.

·         "SwordEnemy" is unlocked in Desert Biome.

·         "Roller Enemy" is unlocked in Lava Biome.

Visibility Tweaks

·         The units no longer display a wobbly outline on the ground, but the red/pink "danger area" is still visible when the units are on top of a hazardous area.

·         Enemies now always have an outline for better visibility.

·         The damage area of enemies has been slightly darkened to improve visibility on new biomes.

·         Turrets now cast shadows on the ground.

Other Changes

·         Topics and places will only be shown on the first loop of the snow biome, not on other biomes.

·         The minimap now renders the ground as a simple constant color instead of rendering the actual ground.

·         Fixed the issue with the unit-bar not making the unit icons smaller if the list gets too big. A minimum size for the icons has been added, so the bar will only get bigger if there are a huge number of units. This was previously fixed but broke again at some point.
